Karnal is all set to welcome the New Year in style, with celebrations planned across the city. The main attraction in the city is the African Night theme party at Noor Mahal Palace, a five-star hotel that has become a popular destination for people across the country.

The grand celebration at Noor Mahal will immerse guests in the vibrant culture of Africa, featuring traditional music, dance, fashion and cuisine from countries like Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda. A key highlight of the evening will be the hotel staff dressed in South African attire, adding a touch of cultural authenticity. The 125-room hotel, with a capacity of 450 guests, is fully booked for the event.

The African Night theme will feature a spectacular show of traditional and modern African dance forms, which, as per the organisers, will give guests a cultural experience.“We aim to provide a safe and memorable atmosphere for our guests. This year, we have made a two-night, three-day package that offers an unforgettable New Year experience,” said Col Manbir Choudhary (retd), CMD of Noor Mahal Palace.

He said over the years, the hotel has hosted New Year’s Eve celebrations on themes such as Wild West, Prison Night, Mummy Returns, London Night, Scottish Night, and many others. Adding to the charm, international dancers will enthrall couples with their performances, making the event a perfect blend of entertainment and African traditions, he added.

Chander Shekhar Puri, Corporate General Manager, Noor Mahal Palace, said their team members had created a menu on the theme of Africa. “Our team members have been working on this theme for the past two months. Our aim is to provide an ambiance of Africa. Our team members will receive guests in the African attire. A special kid zone is being developed for kids on the theme of Africa. African safari with dummies of animals will also be an attraction, where a safari lodge is being set up,” said Puri.

Besides, Karnal Club is hosting a ‘Sparkling Saga Nite’ musical night in a heritage property, which was constructed in 1893. A Delhi-based western music group will perform at the club, promising an evening of electrifying entertainment, said Sahil Sukhija, one of the organising members of the club. He added that the club had made comprehensive security arrangements for the event.

Meanwhile, the banquet halls at Jewel’s Hotel and Vivan Hotel have been booked by different groups for private parties. Apart from these, there are groups of people who are hoisting parties at different places.

The Karnal police have also made elaborate security arrangements across the district. “We have assigned duties to police personnel. Police presence near the main gathering places as well as on roads will  ensure law and order and strict action against violators. We urge people to maintain peace,” said Ganga Ram Punia, Superintendent of Police, Karnal.
