Karnal authorities reach out to villagers during night stay event
In a night-stay programme held at Lalupura village of the Gharaunda block, the district authorities reached out to villagers by staying there to listen to the grievances of the general public.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganga Ram Punia along with the CEO, Zila Parishad, and officiating Additional Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Kumar and officials of the various departments visited the village.
The locals raised two key demands, including an animal hospital, citing the high number of livestock in the village. Besides, they raised the issue of installation of CCTV cameras for enhanced security. CEO Kumar assured the villagers that both demands would be assessed for feasibility and necessary steps would be taken promptly.
Meanwhile, Kumar urged all eligible residents to complete their registration under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by June 7, advising them to visit their nearest Saral Centre for registration.
SP Punia addressed law-and-order related issues, although no major complaints were reported. He praised Lalupura as a peaceful village, free from problems such as illegal mining or drug abuse.
During the night stay, 35 villagers submitted their concerns, with several addressed on the spot and others forwarded to relevant departments for swift action.
Addressing the local children, Punia emphasized the importance of education and skill development. “The youth are the strength of our nation. They must study well, acquire new skills and do your best to become successful and responsible citizens,” he said.
