An international conference on “Proteomics for System Integrated Bio-Omics, One Health and Food Safety” ended at the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) here on Thursday.

Its focus was on the need to have an advanced protein biomarker to diagnose diseases in human and animals.

Experts, including Marc Wilkins from the University of New South Wales, Sean O’ Donoghue from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney, and David Eckersall from University of Glasgow, UK, participated in the three-day conference.

About 400 scientists and young researchers from more than 10 countries participated.

In the valedictory function, Dr Pavneesh Madan of the University of Guelph, Canada, and Dr Prasad Phapale, European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Germany, discussed metabolomics in biological applications. — TNS
