Karnal recorded the highest rainfall in Haryana over the last 24 hours, with 54.4 mm precipitation, according to data released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The showers, which began late on Sunday evening and continued through the night, brought much-needed relief from humid conditions.

Agriculture experts said the rainfall has come at the right time for farmers. “Paddy crop requires a rainfall at this stage and it has saved one irrigation,” said Dr Wazir Singh, Deputy Director Agriculture (DDA), Karnal.

Residents woke up on Monday morning to a cloudy sky and light drizzle that cooled down the atmosphere. The IMD said the spell brought down the state’s average minimum temperature by 0.8°C, though it remains near normal levels. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 21.5°C in Hisar.
