Karnal: Plantation drive organised

Karnal: A special plantation drive was organised in the memory of Sri Chaitanya Educational Group’s founder Dr BS Rao in Karnal. The event was held to honour his enduring legacy and to reinforce the commitment of the institute towards environmental sensitivity among students. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship and the role each individual plays in sustaining our planet. Students actively participated in planting trees, learning about ecological benefits and responsibilities associated with preserving the environment.

Volleyball tournament organised

Hisar: Various competitions organised by the Directorate of Student Welfare (DSW) at the Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar. The LUVAS inter-class volleyball tournament concluded today. Ten teams were divided into two groups in the competition. In the final match of the tournament, the LUVAS faculty team defeated the internship team. Research Director Dr Naresh Jindal was the chief guest during the match. Dr Jindal also talked about the importance of sports in one’s life and encouraged the students to participate in sports as much as possible. LUVAS DSW Dr Pawan appreciated the performance of the players. He also gave away medals and trophies to the winner and runners-up teams. Internship player Yogender Beniwal was selected as the best player of the tournament for his performance.

6 tech varsity students get placed

Hisar: Six students of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) have been selected for the on-campus placement drive at Gujarat Gas Limited. Among those selected are Khushi Goyal and Devender Singh from MBA (General) and Ankit from MBA (Marketing) who got placed with an annual CTC of Rs 8 lakh per annum (LPA) as management executives, whereas Harsh Raj from B Tech Mechanical Engineering, Ajay from B Tech Electrical Engineering, and Ramniwas from B Tech Civil Engineering got placed with an annual CTC of Rs 6 LPA as graduate engineers. The university placement director, Dr Partap Singh, said 22 students of B Tech electrical engineering, civil engineering, and mechanical engineering courses and 16 MBA students participated in the drive. He said the recruitment took place in two phases: the first phase conducted in the training and placement cell consisted of pre-placement talk followed by an aptitude test, technical interviews, and HR interviews, in which 13 students were shortlisted. He added that the second round of the final interview was conducted in the company office in Amritsar, where six students made the cut.

Orientation programme to be held

Hisar: Government College for Women Hisar will organise an orientation programme for the first year students on July 23. Principal Ramesh Arya said students will get a chance to meet faculty and staff members, as well as mentors during the orientation programme. Students can get to know about the subjects and classes during the orientation. Apart from this, they will get a chance to know about the college campus, academic resources, student support services, laboratories, library, clubs, various scholarships, various sports competitions and cultural activities.
