Karnal: DAV (PG) College organised a seven-day NSS camp in Sagga village on the theme ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Udyamshilta’. The camp was aimed at educate the youth and the villagers on their rights and shed light on numerous issues such as voting rights, drug abuse, female foeticide and women empowerment. Principal Rampal Sani highlighted the issues being faced by today’s younger generation.
HAU signs pact with IFFDC
Hisar: Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (HAU) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian Farm Forestry Development Co-operative Limited (IFFDC), Delhi, to popularise HBGH-35 — a hybrid variety of bottle gourd developed by the university. The pact was signed by SK Pahuja, Research Director at HAU, and IFFDC managing director SP Singh. Head of the Department of Vegetable Science, SK Tehlan, said the fruits of the hybrid variety are cylindrical in shape, medium in length, light green in colour, easy to cook and their harvesting starts within 55 days after sowing.
National seminar on Saraswati river
Rohtak: A national seminar on ‘Saraswati River: Cultural Perspective, Geographical Dimensions and Tourism Potential’ was organised under the aegis of Chaudhry Ranbir Singh Institute of Social and Economic Change in collaboration with Haryana Sarasvati Heritage Development Board on the campus of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) on Monday. Former Chief Minister of Tripura and Rajya Sabha MP, Biplab Kumar Deb, was the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he urged the students to take pride in our rich cultural heritage and history and underlined the historical importance of the Saraswati river.
