The district administration is all set to unveil a state-of-the-art daycare centre for children, combined with a provision of recreational activities and a career counselling zone, on the premises of Bal Bhawan in the city.
Will accommodate 100 children
- The centre, having a capacity to accomodate 100 children, will come up at Bal Bhawan.
- Besides having a provision of recreational activities, it will also have a career counselling zone
- The ground floor of the two-storey building is set to have a hall equipped with a stage for yoga, meditation and martial arts.
- Toy trains and swings will be facilitated to entertain young minds
- The first floor will have a dance room and stage for performances
These facilities will be provided at a newly constructed two-storey building with soundproofing. A sum of around Rs 2 crore will be used on this project. The authorities claimed that this project would help in revolutionising childcare and education support. They claimed that it would likely be made operational by April 1.
Vishwas Malik, District Child Welfare Officer (DCWO), said the ground floor of the building had a spacious hall equipped with a stage for activities such as yoga, meditation and martial arts. Besides, a variety of recreational amenities, including toy trains, swings and dance classes would be available to entertain young minds. He said the first floor would feature a dance room and stage, providing ample space for creative expression and performances.
“The daycare centre has a capacity to accommodate 100 students and it will offer a comprehensive range of services, including learning spaces, sleeping quarters, dining areas, pantry, washing facilities, and child-friendly washrooms,” he said, adding that their two specialised programmes in fashion designing and beauty care would also be part of this building, which will have trained instructors in stitching, cutting and beauty treatments to nurture budding talents.
The facility will also incorporate modern technologies such as real-time live and interactive virtual classrooms, ensuring that children receive top-notch education and support without their physical presence, Malik maintained.
Apart from these facilities, a career counselling service provided by experts will guide students towards their professional aspirations, he added.
“To promote book reading habits among young minds, the centre will offer activities such as book reading clubs, blog writing workshops, public speaking sessions,” he said, adding that a Bal Bhawan magazine zone would encourage creativity and intellectual growth among children.
Suresh Kumar a working man whose wife is also a working professional, said they had been searching for such a facility, but could not find a good one. “We are hopeful that this will tick the parameters we are looking for in a child daycare facility,” he added.
