Days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised concern over rising unemployment and youth migration through illegal ‘dunki’ routes, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken a firm stance on the issue.
While holding a roadshow for AAP candidate Narinder Sharma at Pundri and addressing a well-attended gathering in Ballu village of Kalayat segment for party’s candidate Anurag Dhanda, Kejriwal assured voters of his commitment to addressing unemployment.
“I know how to create jobs, and I have the intention to do so,” he said. He further claimed that the AAP government’s transparent governance has enabled it to deliver on its promises. He pledged to tackle the issue of unemployment by creating 12 lakh jobs to prevent youth migration through illegal routes.
Kejriwal took a jibe at other political parties, accusing them of prioritising personal financial gain over public service. “When other parties come to power, their focus shifts to making money. I have not come to make money. I am here to work for the people,” he asserted.
Kejriwal made an emotional appeal to the people of Haryana, urging them to give him one chance to bring the same governance model he successfully implemented in Delhi. “Haryana is my birthplace. Give me one chance and I will transform the state,” he said.
Recounting how he was imprisoned for his work in Delhi, Kejriwal said, “They tried to break me, but they could not. I have always held Haryana’s head high and I will continue to do so,” he said.
Kejriwal criticised PM Narendra Modi, alleging that he was jailed for delivering on promises like free electricity.
Kejriwal said, “Elect Narinder Sharma from Pundri and Anurag Dhanda from Kalayat, I will assure you development like Delhi. AAP is going to win several seats and no government would be formed without us.”
