The ongoing investigation in the murder case of ex-model Divya Pahuja revealed that hotel owner Abhijeet Singh and his accomplice Balraj Gill had 11 telephonic conversations during the period the murder and the disposal of the body.
A team of the Sector 17 crime unit today recreated a scene near Munak Canal in Sangrur, Punjab, with Gill who had disposed of Divya’s body along with his friend Ravi Bandra, who is still on the run. An investigation revealed that her body was found 140 km away from the spot where it was disposed of.
A senior investigating officer said Gill revealed that Abhijeet, his close friend, was nervous after he committed the crime, following which he phoned the former, asking him to dispose of her body. Abhijeet met him and Ravi on Old Delhi Road in Gurugram where he handed over the BMW car to them.
The SIT tried to know the whereabouts of Ravi from Gill. The SIT also laid a trap to nab Ravi based on the information provided by Gill.
“We are investigating the case from all aspects in order to weave in the elements to understand it in detail. Efforts are on to arrest Ravi,” said ACP (Crime) Varun Dahiya.
