Khattar balances Cabinet duties with ground connect in Karnal
Even while shouldering his national responsibilities as Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar is making sure his connect with the people of his Karnal Lok Sabha constituency remains strong.
Serving Cabinet and constituency alike
By balancing his national responsibilities with grassroots-level engagement in Haryana, Manohar Lal ji is discharging his duties both within the Cabinet and among the people of his constituency Karnal and Haryana. In the past month alone, Khattar has visited Karnal and Panipat districts twice each, reviewing the progress of development works and monitoring the implementation of various schemes. His schedule has included field inspections and review meetings with local officials, aimed at keeping projects on track.
Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand said: “Despite his busy schedule as a Union Minister, Manohar Lal ji is regularly in touch with people of his constituency and Haryana. He reviews all ongoing development works along with keeping in touch with people of the state.”
Karnal Mayor Renu Bala Gupta said, “No doubt, the Union Minister has a major responsibility of two key ministries. Despite this, he remains in touch with people of his constituency and of Haryana.”
She added that Khattar’s style of functioning reflects his commitment to both the Cabinet and the grassroots:
“By balancing his national responsibilities with grassroots-level engagement in Haryana, Manohar Lal ji is discharging his duties both within the Cabinet and among the people of his constituency Karnal and Haryana.”
Khattar’s outreach extends beyond his own constituency. Recently, he inspected the 10,000-acre Jungle Safari project in Gurugram and Nuh districts — an ambitious eco-tourism initiative. He has also been reviewing various power and urban affairs projects across the state. In June, he assessed the progress of the Gorakhpur Nuclear Power Project in Fatehabad district.
Political observers see this as a reflection of his long-term vision. Prof Kushal Pal, Principal of Indira Gandhi National College Ladwa, said: “I personally feel, Manohar Lal is a visionary person, who has served the state as CM for two consecutive times. He did not relax while serving the state and worked tirelessly with a vision of Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek, due to which Haryana has witnessed remarkable changes. Despite having two key ministries, Khattar is active on ground at his constituency as well as other parts of the state.”
