The Gurugram police have arrested the three accused who had kidnapped a B Tech second year student of the Gurugram University in an SUV and forcibly withdrew Rs 1.87 lakh from his account and even sold his expensive bike worth Rs 8.50 lakh.

According to the police, the arrested accused were identified as Tilak Tewatia, resident of village Meerapur in Palwal district, Bhanu of Shiv colony, Palwal and Gaurav, a resident of Pyala village in Faridabad but living in Dholagarh village in Palwal district. The police have recovered the car used in crime and the stolen iPad and PlayStation of the victim from their possession.

Accused drug addicts

During interrogation, the main accused revealed that he and his friends are drug addicts. When he came to know that the victim owned an expensive bike, in greed of money for drugs, he hatched a plan to rob the victim. — Sandeep Kumar, Gurugram Police spokesperson

“During interrogation, the main accused Tilak Tewatia revealed that he and his friends are drug addicts. He met the victim through his aunt’s son. When he came to know that the victim owned an expensive bike, in the greed of money for the drugs, he along with his associates Bhanu and Gaurav hatched a plan to rob the victim”, said Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson of Gurugram police.
