The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has sealed Gurugram’s key tourist attraction and entertainment centre, Kingdom of Dreams, for the non-payment of dues of around Rs 100 crore.

India’s first live entertainment, theatre and leisure centre, set up on 6 acres of HSVP land, was reportedly sealed for the non-payment of rent.

As per the lease agreement, the entertainment centre, owned by the Great Indian Nautanki Company, had to pay around Rs 34 lakh in rent every month. The centre had not paid it since long and after repeated notices, the HSVP decided to go ahead with sealing it.

The action is being seen as closure of the centre that had lavish cuisine and cultural space within the premises known as the Culture Gully. There were various attractions at the centre, including the Showcase Theatre and the Nautanki Mahal.

Various musical performances, carnivals and theatrical shows used to take place at the Kingdom of Dreams.
