Komal Saini on Monday took charge as the Mayor of the Panipat Municipal Corporation (MC).

Komal Saini will run the civic body from the MC Commissioner's office at Railway road, which was specially prepared for her.

Panchayat and Development Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, MLA Panipat City Pramod Vij, MLA Samalkha Manmohan Bhadana, BJP’s district president Dushyant Bhatt and Commissioner MC Dr Pankaj Yadav were present on the occasion.

The Mayor along with her husband Dinesh Saini and other family members reached her office to take charge.

Komal Saini after taking charge said to resolve people’s problems would be her priority.

Komal further said the major problems of the city including the sanitation, streetlights and clean drinking water, waterlogging problems during rainy season would be taken up step by step so that permanent solution was given to the city residents.

Residents would be provided with the clean potable water during the summer season, the Mayor added.

Several development works in the city was affected due to the model code of conduct, the priority would be to pace-up such the development works, she asserted.

Panwar said in a democracy there was no boundary line between the people and the government. The complainant had the right to contact his nearest public representative at any time and get his problems resolved, Panwar added. Panwar said the people’s problems should be resolved on priority basis.

Dhanda said Panipat was a historical, religious and an industrial city and the state government would fully support its development.
