Kurukshetra cops intensify patrolling, checking in view of New Year celebrations
To ensure public safety and maintain law and order during New Year celebrations, the district police have intensified checking and set up 27 check-posts in the district.
The district police have intensified patrolling at public places and checking to avoid any untoward incident.
As per Kurukshetra police spokesman Naresh Kumar, all SHOs, police post in-charges and in-charges of crime investigation units have been directed to keep a close watch in the district to ensure no untoward incident takes place during the New Year celebrations. Ample security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order and traffic system at crowded places, public places, bus stand and railway station.
All teams have been directed to increasing patrolling in their respective areas and foot patrolling has been increased in the entire district to maintain law and order and safety of the general public in the markets. As many as 27 check-posts have been set up across the district to maintain security and law and order.
The Superintendent of Police has directed all supervisory officials and SHOs to coordinate with the owners/managers of hotels, restaurants, bars, banquet halls, and resorts located in their respective police station jurisdiction and organise a meeting with them to issued necessary directions.
At the same time, suspicious and anti-social persons will be kept under special surveillance. Orders have been given to take strict action against those who indulge in hooliganism and anti-social activities under the guise of New Year.
Superintendent of Police Varun Singla said, “Ample security arrangements have been made to ensure safety and security of the general public. We also appeal to the public to cooperate with the district police in maintaining law and order. In case of any suspicious/unusual activity, immediately alert the police.”
Meanwhile, to keep the police personnel ready to tackle emergency situations and maintain law and order, a riot control exercise was organised during the general parade at the Police Lines on Monday.
Police personnel from various police stations and police posts participated in the training exercise. Line Officer Nagendra Singh and Chief Drill Instructor (CDI) Ravindra Singh gave detailed information to the policemen about things to be done in case of untoward situations. The policemen were also given information about various equipment and techniques to control the unlawful crowd.
After the exercise, the SP inspected the rider bikes, interacted with riders and issued directions to them.
Singla said the police personnel deployed on the riders should be aware of their duties. Any kind of negligence during duty will not be tolerated.
