Rakesh had stated that his father was living with a woman in Amar Colony of Shahabad, after his second wife left him, but he had gone missing. On December 7, Narata Ram’s body was recovered from a box inside his house in Shahabad, following which murder charges were added in the FIR and the matter was handed over to the CIA-2 unit.”
During investigation, the CIA-2 came to know about Jyoti, alias Himachali Devi, however she was already arrested by the Punjab police in another murder case and the Kurukshetra police brought her on production warrant.

CIA-2 in-charge Mohan Lal said, “The accused woman had read a matrimonial advertisement given by Narata Ram in a newspaper, she approached the victim and married him. On the day of murder, she had given Narata Ram an overdose of intoxicating tablets and fled to Punjab after stuffing his body in a box in the house. She also took away the mobile phone of the victim and made purchases worth Rs 3 lakh using a mobile banking application. The accused used to target men after seeing matrimonial advertisements and also used to keep intoxicating tablets with her. She was facing a similar case in Jalandhar, Punjab, in which a man Kulwant Khatri was found dead, and another similar matter in Uttar Pradesh, but the UP man had survived.
