Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal on Tuesday reviewed paddy procurement arrangements at Kalayat grain market and interacted with farmers and traders. He said the government was committed to purchasing every grain of the farmers’ produce. “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Saini, who comes from a farmer’s family, the agriculture sector has greatly benefited. It is under his guidance that a transparent and efficient policy for crop procurement has been implemented,” he said.
He said all farmers were registered on the ‘Meri Fasal, Mera Byora’ portal by the government, ensuring their crop data was recorded digitally. Through the ‘e-Kharid’ mobile app, the farmers could check details related to crop sales, issuance of J-Forms, and payment status on their phones. “Payments are being credited directly to the farmers’ bank accounts within the stipulated time after the lifting of the crop,” he added.
The MP also said the government had increased the incentive amount for the farmers who avoided burning crop residue from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200 per acre, encouraging sustainable agricultural practices. He held a meeting with officials at the Market Committee office and instructed them to ensure that no farmer faced any difficulty in selling their produce.
Later, MP Naveen Jindal attended a programme at the BJP district office Kapil Kamal in Kaithal, where he extended festive greetings to party workers. Speaking to the media, he discussed the central and state government’s development schemes and policies, stating that every issue raised by the public was being addressed with full sincerity.
Expressing gratitude to the youth of the Kurukshetra Parliamentary Constituency for their enthusiastic participation in the MP Sports Festival registration, he urged everyone to contribute to making the event a grand success.
Highlighting the upcoming 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jindal appealed to the citizens to actively participate in related programmes, including the ‘Run for Unity’ scheduled for October 31, to inspire the younger generation to work for the nation’s unity and progress. He further encouraged the youth to bring positive changes in their lives, take inspiration from great leaders and contribute towards realising the vision of a Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Saini. He also emphasised promoting the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative and turning it into a mass movement across the region.
