KU non-teaching staff prez awarded for adopting 785 TB patients
Kurukshetra University Non-teaching Employees Association (KUNTEA) President Rajwant Kaur has been honoured with an award of appreciation for humanitarian work in the field of social service and adopting 785 TB patients.She was awarded by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda on the occasion of the national launch of the 100-day intensified campaign for TB elimination recently organised in Panchkula.
Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva congratulated Rajwant Kaur for her achievement and said Rajwant Kaur has been playing an active role in social service work since 2012 through Shubhkarman Charitable Trust and she has taken the responsibility of taking care of 11 elderly persons and educating 19 girls.
Rajwant Kaur said under the TB-Free India Campaign, she took the responsibility of 400 TB patients in 2018 and at present the number of patients adopted by her has increased to 785.
