KU SEG chapter awarded

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) Students’ Chapter of the Department of Geophysics, Kurukshetra University, has been crowned the Best SEG Student Chapter (2023-2024) in the world at the prestigious IMAGE-2024 Conference at Houston, USA. The chapter competed against 322 student chapters from universities across 64 countries.

Prof BS Chaudhary, Chairman, Department of Geophysics said Rohit Chauhan (team leader), Abhishek Manwal and Ishika Aggarwal (members), final-year MSc (tech) applied geophysics students, participated in the SEG Evolve programme and also presented the annual report of the SEG students Chapter for the session 2023-24 at Houston from August 25-29.

Prof Dinesh Kumar, Dean (research and development) said the students demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment. Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdevacongratulated the students.
