Kurukshetra: Kurukshetra University and UESCO’s Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), New Delhi, signed an MoU in the committee room. In the presence of KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, KU Registrar Dr Sanjeev Sharma and Mr Abel Caine, executive officer, Youth Program UNESCO-MGIEP signed the memorandum of understanding. The VC Prof Sachdeva said the KU was in the process of implementing the new education policy and under this they had introduced a number of courses for the ovevrall development of students.
Winter school for scientists
Karnal: The National Dairy Research Institute has organised a 21-day winter school on “Advances in agricultural extension research”. It is a ICAR-sponsored programme for faculties of the ICAR and state agricultural universities. The programme was organised from January 28 to February 17 mainly to update the latest advances in agricultural extension research for teachers and scientists working in the National Agricultural Research System. Dr K Ponnusamy, course director of the winter school, presented the report. About 35 participants attended and nearly 75 lectures were delivered by the senior experts in the field of agriculture along with hands-on training using SPSS, excel and R software. Dr. KS Kadian, Head, Dairy Extension Division welcomed all the participants as well as dignitaries.
Stone of Shaurya wall laid
Sonepat: The Member of Parliament from Sonepat, Rameshh Chandra Kaushik, laid the foundation stone of Shaurya wall and also inaugurated the Dhanwantri Health Centre at Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University in the district. He said Shaurya wall would be a true tribute in honour of the brave soliders of the country as it would create a sense of nationalism and patriotism in the present generation. Vice-ChancellorProf. Viney Kapoor Mehra threw light on the activities of the university.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav series
Hisar: The speakathon club under the mentorship of training and placement cell, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, organised the 20th episode of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Series’ in the form of “Online Elocution Competition” to commemorate the 75th Year of India’s independence. Dr Markandey Ahuja, renowned eye surgeon and founder Vice-Chancellor, Gurugram University, was the chief guest of the event. Dr Sumit Saroha from the electrical engineering department and Dr Prerna from the HSB department were the judges of the elocution contest. Total 21 students from various departments enthusiastically participated in the event.
