Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva on Friday said the soul of Indian democracy lay in the Constitution.

The VC read out the Preamble of the Constitution to the officers and employees, as part of ‘Hamara Samvidhan-Hamara Samman’ campaign, and said the Indian Constitution gave every citizen the Right to Equality, freedom and justice, which became the basis for empowering every section of society.

Prof Sachdeva added that the Fundamental Rights mentioned in the Constitution, such as Freedom of Expression and the Right to Education, enabled citizens to make judicious use of their abilities.
