Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh today said the infrastructure in government schools was being upgraded in the district to ensure all facilities for students.
The Deputy Commissioner said the government had focused on strengthening the infrastructure of the government schools. Along with providing all facilities, schemes had also been implemented to enhance the hidden talent of the students.
The Deputy Commissioner said efforts were being made to provide all facilities to the students of government schools. The state government had sanctioned Rs 7.12 crore for 2024-25 under the Samagra Shiksha and out of this, an amount of Rs 6.20 crore was released/utilised.
Further under the government’s PM Shri Scheme, a grant of Rs 1.75 crore was sanctioned to upgrade schools, out of which, a grant of Rs 1.67 crore was released/utilised. Besides these, a budget of Rs 4.54 crore was sanctioned for getting civil works done in the schools under PM Shri Yojana and Samagra Shiksha and out of this, a budget of Rs 3.50 crore was released/utilised.
Singh said the Education Department was getting the civil works, including the construction of classrooms, library, computer room and headmaster room, through School Management Committee (SMC). The government had sanctioned a budget of Rs 2.61 crore. All these works are in progress and a budget of about Rs 2 crore has been released for the work.
