His father claimed that he came to know about Harkirat being taken away on Sunday after his daughter-in-law told him. “Last night six men came and took Harkirat with them from Shyam Colony. He works as yatra in-charge under HSGMC and handles visa-related work for devotees who go to pay obeisance in Pakistan every year. However, Harkirat never went to Pakistan. We have no idea why he was detained. We have no communication with him so far,” Harkirat’s father said.

However, later on Sunday evening, he was released by the police. A Hisar police spokesperson, said “Harkirat was called for questioning in an espionage case and has been let off as he has no role in the matter.”
