Kurukshetra police spokesman Naresh Kumar said that as part of the Sewa Pakhwada, a blood donation camp was organised on the directions of Superintendent of Police Nitish Agarwal.

DSP (Headquarters) Sunil Kumar honoured and encouraged the blood donors at the blood donation camp, and stated that blood donation not only saved lives but also promoted brotherhood and the spirit of service in society. He emphasised that blood is not manufactured in a factory but can only be produced by humans, and it is a life-saving measure. The DSP also urged the youth to stay away from drugs. Officers and police personnel from various police stations and police posts in the district participated in the camp.

Additional Superintendent of Police Prateek Gahlot stated that blood donation was a noble act that gave a new life to an unknown individual. The camp’s purpose was not only to collect blood but also to spread awareness about blood donation in society.

He said the Kurukshetra police were not limited to law and order, but were also always committed to fostering awareness and human values in society. Such social programmes will be organised regularly to strengthen further the spirit of trust and cooperation between the police and society, he said.

During the camp, all blood donors underwent a pre-health checkup and blood was collected by the team of doctors from the Lok Nayak Jai Parkash District Civil Hospital. Meanwhile, the Kurukshetra police also conducted a cleanliness drive in all offices, police stations, police posts, police lines, and other buildings of the department within the district.

Superintendent of Police Nitish Agarwal said, “Cleanliness should not only be a responsibility, but also a part of our lifestyle. Just as we keep our homes clean, we should also ensure cleanliness at our workplaces and public places. The Kurukshetra police want to convey the message that a clean environment is the foundation of a healthy society. Through the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we want to convey that change is possible only when we all work together to fulfil our responsibilities. We have also appealed to the citizens to join the campaign and keep their surroundings clean and beautiful.”
