Kurukshetra, July 29
The Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs of Kurukshetra University (KU), in collaboration with the Sanskriti Society for Arts and Cultural Development, will organise the five-day 7th Haryana International Film Festival from August 7 to 11.
Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva said the aim of the festival was to provide a global platform to the state’s filmmakers, actors, animators and visual-effect artists to showcase their talents. Director of Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs, Vivek Chawla, and President of the Sanskriti Society for Arts and Cultural Development, Dharmendra Dangi, said films from 16 countries in 19 languages would be screened at the event. Convener of the organising committee, Maha Singh Poonia, added that 75 films, including short films and documentaries would be featured during the event.
Deputy Director of the Public Relations Department of KU, Dr Jimmy Sharma, said renowned artists, including Yashpal Sharma, Raza Murad, Rajendra Gupta, Shikha Malhotra, Yograj Singh, Avtar Gill, Ekta Tiwari and Shishir Sharma would attend the festival.
