Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said new avenues of research would be created through the plastic waste-to-wealth project. This would also provide the availability of materials for civil engineering, energy storage, medicines, water purification and road construction. Under the MoU, staff, faculty and students would be able to share the benefits of research and laboratory facilities available in both universities, he said.

The MoU was signed by KUK Registrar Prof Sanjeev Sharma and Prof NG Sahu, Director of Research and Development, Nano Science and Nano Technology, Kumaun University. Physics Department Chairman Prof Fakir Chand said the MoU would prove to be a boon for the research scholars and teachers of the department.
