Kurukshetra, February 3
The Kurukshetra University Technology Incubation Centre (KUTIC) launched a start-up building initiative — PRAYAS 2.0 — for students here yesterday.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva congratulated the KUTIC for launching its third initiative in a short span of time since its establishment in late 2019. He said the university has created a good ecosystem for providing in-house entrepreneurship opportunities to its students through establishing the technology incubation centre to incubate start-ups.
He stressed that the purpose of National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 is to transform the knowledge transfer to creation of the knowledge. He said Kurukshetra University is the first university in the country which has successfully implemented the NEP-2020.
The Vice-Chancellor further shared his views on strengthening the start-up eco-culture on the campus through various initiatives and motivated the students to participate in PRAYAS 2.0.
Prof Anurekha Sharma, coordinator, KUTIC, said the main objectives of PRAYAS 2.0 is to transform ideas into products, build industry-academia interface for creating innovative solutions, involve industry as an outreach partner to attract start-ups, showcase the strength of the university faculty as a mentor/ inventor/ entrepreneur.
