Kurukshetra varsity set to host Gita conference

A preparatory meeting for the 10th International Gita Conference-2025 to be held at Kurukshetra University from November 24 to 26 on the theme ‘Svadharma in Shrimad Bhagavad Gita: Inspiration for Duty, Peace and Harmony’ was held on Monday.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, who chaired the meeting, said this year’s edition of the International Gita Seminar will be significantly special in scale and stature. Twenty-five foreign delegates representing 16 countries are expected to participate in the conference. There will be five plenary sessions for the engagement of the international participants — three scheduled for the afternoon of November 24 and two on November 25. The plenary discussions will also feature eminent Indian scholars.

The technical sessions of the seminar will be recorded and special speaker capsules and reels will be produced.

An exhibition by the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) students themed on the Bhagavad Gita will run parallel to poster presentations.

Prof Manjula Chaudhary, Director of the Centre of Distance and Online Education, emphasised the importance of fostering meaningful dialogue, exchange of ideas and active engagement with all international guests.

Conference Director Prof Tejinder Sharma apprised the members of all the arrangements and instructions regarding hospitality, registration, stage management, accommodation, transport, decoration, light and sound, security, protocol, media, publication and souvenir development, along with necessary guidelines for timely completion of responsibilities.

The brochure of the three-day conference was released by the Vice-Chancellor, along with Registrar Dr Virender Pal, Dean Academic Affairs Prof Rakesh Kumar, Prof Manjula Chaudhary, Prof Tejinder Sharma, Prof Vivek Chawla and Prof Vanita Dhingra.
