Anju, who had settled in Vadodara for decades, had recently travelled to Kurukshetra to visit her ailing parents — father Jagdish Sharma, a retired government employee and mother Santosh Sharma.

“She had come a few days ago to meet her parents,” said Vaibhav Sharma, Anju’s cousin. “She got married in 1990 in Punjab, but she and her husband Pawan Sharma had made Vadodara their home. Pawan passed away a few years ago. Anju had two daughters — Nimmi and Hunny.”

According to family sources, Anju left for London on Thursday to meet Nimmi. The tragic news of her death has not yet been disclosed to her parents due to her father's fragile health.

Sohan Lal, a family acquaintance, said, “Anju’s father Jagdish Sharma is bedridden and in poor health. We haven’t told him or her mother yet about the accident. But other relatives are aware and are in touch with Anju’s brother and second daughter in Vadodara.”

Family members are now coordinating with authorities and relatives to manage the situation and decide how to break the heartbreaking news to her parents.
