Labourer dies as wall collapses during excavation

A labourer lost his life after being buried under debris when a wall collapsed during excavation work at a vacant plot near the bypass road in Jhajjar city on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Amar, a native of Madhya Pradesh.

The incident occurred while Amar was digging the foundation of a structure at the site. According to initial reports, the wall of an adjacent plot gave way due to the depth of the excavation and collapsed onto him. Amar was immediately rushed to a private hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

His body has been shifted to the civil hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collapse and whether safety norms were violated. Authorities are likely to question those responsible for supervising the excavation work.
