Labourer found dead in Panipat

A 28-year-old man’s body was found near the NFL Colony on Saturday evening.

The deceased, identified as Ajay of Deenapur in West Bengal, was working as a labourer in a factory near Mehrana village of Panipat. The police suspected he was hit with a heavy object like a brick on his head and mouth resulting in his death. A case of murder has been registered against unknown persons for murdering Ajay.

Mohammad Maneer also from West Bengal, in his complaint to the police said his father Lal Mohammad, who was Ajay’s colleague, told him on Saturday that he had not reported for duty. They came to Ajay’s room but did not find him there and started looking for him. They finally found his body in the bushes near NFL Colony.

The Model Town SHO, along with the FSL team, visited the spot and said that prima facie, Ajay was assaulted with a heavy brick or stone on his head and mouth that lead to his death. — TNS
