Over 36,000 women in the district have registered themselves under the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi scheme launched by the state government to provide monthly financial assistance to poor women.

Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar has urged all eligible women in the district to register under the welfare scheme without delay.

“The district administration is working diligently and the Services Department is continuously processing applications so that eligible women can receive benefits in time. The scheme, under which Rs 2,100 per month will be provided to women, will not only reduce their financial dependence, but also help establish their equal status in society,” the DC added.

He added that women, who complete their registration by November 1 and meet all the prescribed conditions, will have the first installment deposited directly into their bank accounts.
