As Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini represents the Ladwa Assembly constituency, the residents are optimistic about seeing significant developmental projects in their area.
The Chief Minister has already announced plans to develop Ladwa as a model constituency. Key projects include the long-awaited Ladwa bypass, the four-laning of the Pehowa-Yamunanagar road, a 33-kv power station in Kanipla village and various grants for development works in villages, including road construction. Despite these announcements, locals feel that employment generation should also be a priority.
Krishan Kumar, a resident of Ladwa, said, “The Chief Minister has been actively visiting the constituency, listening to grievances and making various announcements. The government should also focus on setting up industries in the Ladwa segment to create job opportunities.”
Echoing similar sentiment, Pawan Sonti, a local resident and political analyst, said, “With Ladwa being the CM’s constituency, people have high expectations. So far, routine project announcements and grants have been made, but the public hopes for some major projects that can boost the local economy and generate employment. A large number of young people from Ladwa are migrating abroad for jobs every year.”
On the other hand, former Ladwa MLA Mewa Singh criticised the government’s performance. He said, “So far, only announcements like the Ladwa bypass and road four-laning have been made, but no tangible work has started. No major development project has been introduced. Farmers have faced difficulties, such as securing DAP fertiliser and selling paddy at MSP, but no steps were taken to address their issues.”
In contrast, BJP leader and chairman of the Haryana Livestock Development Board, Dharam Veer Mirzapur, emphasised the government’s developmental focus. “The government is committed to developing Ladwa as a model constituency. Officials have been directed to explore major projects and incorporate public feedback. The Ladwa bypass and the four-laning of Pehowa-Yamunanagar road will alleviate traffic woes. Additionally, Rs 6 crore has been allocated for carpeting and repairing 23 roads and a veterinary polyclinic will be established soon,” he said.
The optimism surrounding development is not limited to Ladwa. Residents of Naraingarh Assembly constituency, also in Kurukshetra district, hold similar expectations since the CM hails from there as well.
“The Chief Minister has recently announced several projects for Naraingarh, including a horticulture college, a hockey Astro Turf at the Badagarh Sports Stadium and Rs 5 crore for renovating sports facilities. Foundation stones have been laid for a bus stand and other major projects. Additionally, efforts are underway to provide a permanent solution for sugarcane farmers by setting up cooperative sugar mills,” Mirzapur added.
While the promises have sparked hope, residents remain watchful, awaiting tangible progress on these projects to fulfil their aspirations for economic growth and employment.
