Dispensaries lack facilities

I have visited ESI dispensaries many times. In the absence of proper facilities, these dispensaries have to refer patients to other hospitals for treatment — An employee registered under ESIC

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had, in his Budget speech, informed that the Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) had approved the establishment of new 100-bed hospitals at Hisar,Rohtak, Ambala and Sonepat districts.

The Estate Officer of the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Hisar, Rajesh Khoth, said a piece of land measuring five acres had been finalised for the project in Sector 16-17. He said the officials concerned had inspected the site. “The process of allotment of the land to the ESIC had started,”he said.

The land will be transferred to the ESIC at the rate of Rs 19,000 per sq m. The Accounts Branch of the HSVP will make final calculations of the total amount and the ‘no objection certificate’ will also be issued by procuring clearance from the departments concerned.

The officials said the ESIC had earlier inspected another site in Sector 25. However, the team rejected the site as the area was not developed. At present, there are two ESI dispensaries in the town. However, in view of the workforce in the manufacturing and service sector in the town, the government has proposed to set up a 100-bed hospital in the town. At present, about 40,000 families under the ESI scheme will be benefited with the establishment of the hospital.

An employee, who is registered for the ESI healthcare facilities, said he had visited the dispensaries many times. “In the absence of healthcare facilities, these dispensaries have to refer the patients to other hospitals for treatment,” he said.
