Law and order deteriorated under BJP rule: Abhay

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Abhay Singh Chautala today criticised the state government for the deteriorating law and order situation and rise in drug abuse.

Speaking to mediapersons, Chautala said, “Over the past 11 years, the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated and thousands of youths have lost their lives due to drug addiction. The government has not been able to stop murders and extortion. People sitting in jails have formed organisations and are operating gangs in the entire state. Without political patronage, such activities are not possible. Till the time the common man is not safe, no industrialist will come to Haryana.”

Chautala was here to hold a meeting of the party’s Ambala zone in Kurukshetra. He said during organisational restructuring, the state was divided into three zones — Hisar, Gurugram and Ambala.

“The objective of the meeting was to make fresh faces, who have been included in the party organisation, aware of their responsibilities and assign them duties. The birth anniversary of Chaudhary Devi Lal will be celebrated on September 25, and it has been decided that a state executive body meeting will be held in Kaithal on July 29 to finalise the district where the celebrations will be held,” he said.

He also raised the issues of shortage of fertiliser, SYL, and higher power tariffs, and said that instead of providing relief to the residents of Haryana, the BJP government had been taking anti-people decisions. The INLD would raise public issues during the upcoming Assembly session, he stated.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Chautala said, “A party without discipline will never have an organisation. What could be worse than the condition of the Congress that Rahul Gandhi had to intervene to get the district-level organisations formed, and even that task is yet to be accomplished.”

He also slammed the AAP, saying that on the one hand, Arvind Kejriwal called himself a son of Haryana, and on the other hand, his government in Punjab was not giving Haryana its share of waters.”
