JJP leader Digvijay Singh Chautala on Tuesday criticised the state government and said the law and order had deteriorated under the BJP rule in the state.
He was here in Kurukshetra to hold meetings with party workers, regarding the party’s ongoing Yuva Jodo Abiyan on Tuesday.
Speaking to mediapersons, Digvijay Chautala said, “The party had launched a Yuva Jodo Abhiyan in June and so far 14 districts of the state have been covered as part of the programme. The party has been receiving a positive response. The citizens of the state have been showing their disappointment toward the anti-people policies of the BJP government. The law and order has deteriorated in the state. The government has failed to address the issues of unemployment, poor sanitation conditions, lack of health and education facilities. The BJP has not fulfilled it promises made during the elections.”
“People from across the country reach here in Kurukshetra and it is unfortunate to see a dumping ground near the Brahma Sarovar. Kurukshetra is a religious city and the presence of a dumping ground in the city raises many questions. The BJP government makes big claims about development in Kurukshetra and promoting Sanatan Dharma, but the dumping ground near Brahma Sarovar shows the real picture. The sanitation is poor and even the roads are in poor shape”, he added.
The JJP leader also targeted the Congress and said, “Due to infighting in the Congress, the party has failed to raise public issues. The JJP is emerging as an alternative in Haryana and a large number of people are joining the JJP to strengthen the party”.
On being asked about Vikas Barala’s name dropped from the list of law officers, Digvijay said, “The case against Vikas Barala is still pending in the court. If he has earned a position on the basis of his knowledge, then it is not right to criticize him. It is wrong to target him and his father just because his father is in the BJP.”
While addressing the party workers, Digvijay called on the party workers to strengthen the party’s base and induct new members in the party. He said “The state government is being controlled from Delhi and the Chief Minister has no control over the bureaucracy. Only the JJP can raise the public issues effectively.”
