Law students of Sirsa university visit women police station to learn investigation process

The visit aimed at helping students understand police investigation procedures in women-related crimes, legal processes, and practical aspects of the justice system. Faculty members Dr Narendra Kumar, Dr Anil Ghanghas, and Dr Jyotsna Chaudhary guided the students during the visit, ensuring an informative and interactive learning experience.
Station House Officer (SHO) Darshana Devi welcomed the students and explained the working of the women police station. She detailed the procedure for filing FIRs, conducting preliminary investigations, examining witnesses and preparing chargesheets. The officer also addressed several questions from the students.
Professor Umed Singh, head of the law department, said similar programmes would be organised in future to give the students hands-on exposure to legal and judicial systems.
The visit provided the students with practical insights into law enforcement and justice delivery, inspiring them to become responsible, empathetic, and capable legal professionals.
