Left leaders attack BJP govt over farm, unemployment issues
A two-day district conference of the Communist Party of India (M) commenced here with a discussion on the current political scenario across the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Rajasthan MP Amra Ram, a prominent farm leader, made a scathing attack on the Modi government, stating that it was shamelessly shielding Adani by not allowing a discussion in Parliament on blatant corruption of bribery to top bureaucrats.
He said it was ridiculous that Adani was indicted in the US and the Modi government continued to be unrelenting by not taking action. Aram Ram criticised the UP and Haryana police for not letting farmers from Noida and Punjab go to Delhi. He also exhorted the people of all sections to "not fall prey to caste and communal provocation being resorted to by the BJP" in order to divide them.
The CPI’s state secretary, Surender Singh, held the pro-corporate policies responsible for unemployment, price rise and unprecedented disparities in the country. He blamed the Haryana BJP government for continuing its bankrupt policies for over 10 years by ignoring the fact that more than 60 per cent of the electorate of the state have voted against it. He appealed to the farmers and workers to forge a unity and fight for alternate policies.
