Leopard strays into Gurugram town, rescued after hours-long operation
Panic gripped the Sohna town of Gurugram district after a leopard strayed into a housing society and kept the forest and wildlife officials on their toes during the wee hours on Sunday.
According to information, the leopard entered the Anmol Ashiyana Society in Sohna at around midnight on Sunday.
After the local authorities were alerted, the forest department initiated a five-hour rescue operation at 1:30 am and successfully captured the leopard without tranquillizers.
The forest department reportedly captured the big cat by using water sprays and cutting a door.
After the incident, wildlife experts confirmed the leopard to be a 6 to 7-year-old male.
