AICC communication in charge Randeep Surjewala today demanded suspension of toll charges across the state for at least two months.
He said the ongoing lockdown had thrown business and commerce out of gear, making it difficult for commuters to pay toll charges. He alleged that the Central and state governments not only intended to start toll plazas from midnight tonight, but had also increased rates on certain highways “exposing the anti-people face” of the BJP government.
“Charging of toll should be put on hold for at least two months, preferably from May 3 when the second phase of lockdown ends,” he said.
