Licence cancellation recommended for illegal screening plant in Yamunanagar
The Mines and Geology Department, Yamunanagar, has recommended the cancellation of the Mineral Dealer Licence (MDL) of a screening plant in Dhanaura village, Vyaspur sub-division, due to its involvement in illegal mining, trading and transportation of minerals.
Mining Officer Vinay Sharma wrote to the Director General, Mines and Geology Department, Haryana, on February 16, urging immediate licence cancellation. The screening plant was not registered on the Haryana Mines and Geology Information System (HMGIS) portal but was allegedly found operating illegally.
"The MDL holder is a habitual offender and continuously involved in illegal activities. The licence should be cancelled to curb illegal mining, transportation and trading and to prevent government revenue loss," Sharma stated in the letter.
A joint team from the Mines and Geology Department and the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau inspected the Dhanaura screening plant on February 15 and allegedly found it operating illegally. The team also discovered four vehicles illegally loaded with mining minerals and two machines engaged in illegal operations.
As per State Mining Rules 2012, all four vehicles and two machines were seized and sent to the police post in Ranjitpur. The raid was led by Mining Inspector Rohit Rana.
Mining Officer Vinay Sharma assured that joint inspections and raids would continue in coordination with the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau and the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) to curb illegal mining activities in Yamunanagar.
