District Magistrate Parth Gupta said the voting for the Municipal Corporation elections, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri and Municipal Council, Radaur, would be held on March 2 and counting would be done on March 12.

He said all liquor shops, bars and pubs, located at a distance of three kilometres from the areas of municipal bodies, where the elections were to be held, would remain closed one day before the polling, on the day of polling and on the day of counting.

“There will be a ban on the sale of liquor during the general elections of the municipal bodies, therefore, all liquor licensees have been informed in this regard,” said District Magistrate Parth Gupta.

He said in such a situation, liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs and other establishments selling or serving liquor located in areas of the municipal bodies would not be allowed to sell/ serve liquor to anyone on March 1, March 2 and March 12.
