Live-in couple attacked in Sirsa

In a shocking incident in Sirsa district, a couple in a live-in relationship was attacked. However, they managed to escape unharmed by speeding away in their car. The man, Rohtash, filed a complaint with the Nathusari Chopta police station, and based on his complaint, a case was registered against four people, including one named suspect.

Rohtash said he had been living with the woman since February 10. However, the woman, who is a mother of four children and married at Farwai Khurd village, had been staying with him against her family’s wishes. Her relatives from her parental side were reportedly angry about their relationship.

Just six days after they started living together, on February 16, Rohtash’s companion, Deshraj, was brutally attacked and had his hands and legs broken by the same group of people. Rohtash reported the incident to the police, but no action was taken. Despite this, the attackers continued to roam around the village, and Rohtash decided to take his concerns to the police station in Sirsa.

On March 9, while Rohtash was on his way to record his statement at the police station, he and his partner were ambushed by the attackers. The attackers, driving an unmarked car, blocked their way and fired shots in the air. They also hit their car with sticks. Rohtash sped away and during the chase, the attackers’ car got stuck near a canal.

Rohtash shared that he had met the woman while visiting a private hospital in Sirsa for medication. They started talking during these visits. They had been living together for the past month, despite the ongoing hostility from the woman’s family.
