Local commissioners inspect cleanliness efforts in Gurugram
Local commissioners appointed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court visited various areas in Gurugram’s Municipal Corporation on Thursday to assess the cleanliness system. This inspection was part of a judicial committee set up by the High Court to evaluate the ground realities of waste management, particularly the indiscriminate scattering of garbage on roads, vacant plots and public spaces in the city, which poses significant health risks.
A total of 19 local commissioners visited several sectors across Gurugram, interacting with representatives of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and speaking with citizens to gather information on the sanitation efforts being carried out by both the municipal corporation (MC) and private agencies. They were accompanied by the nodal officers and liaison officers appointed by the corporation.
During the tour, the commissioners inspected main roads, upscale areas, sectors, colonies, villages and vacant land. They also gathered feedback from shopkeepers, RWA representatives and residents about the cleanliness system.
