Commuters are facing inconvenience due to prolonged waiting time at traffic signals in Karnal. The waiting period during the red light is significantly high, while it is very less during the green light. At several junctions, commuters have to reportedly wait for nearly 75 minutes before getting the signal to proceed. This highlights the urgent need for proper calibration of traffic lights in these areas to ensure smooth vehicular flow and safety of pedestrians.

MC must ensure segregation of dry, wet waste
Vehicles deployed by the Municipal Corporation of Rohtak for door-to-door garbage collection have separate compartments for wet and dry domestic waste. However, the garbage is not segregated as the residents dispose of mixed waste in the vehicle and the operators also do not bother to ensure that it is segregated. The MC must take note of it and ensure that the dry and wet waste is disposed of separately.

Illegal hoardings deface public property
The municipal council recently carried out a two-day drive against illegal hoardings defacing public property in Thanesar. However, a large number of such hoardings and posters can still be spotted in various areas falling under the jurisdiction of the MC. The authorities must conduct regular campaigns and impose hefty fines on those who put up such hoardings.
