Around 200 migrant families have reportedly “fled” Manesar after some Hindu outfits launched an identity verification campaign at the place.

The outfits have reportedly asked shop-owners to name their units by highlighting their identity.

Following a recent mahapanchayat, the outfits had demanded that the administration should verify the ID cards of Muslim migrants and after reportedly getting no response from the latter, took things into their hands.

“We have asked the landlords and locals to get the IDs of the migrants verified. We have also asked shop-keepers to keep their identity clear. They can’t be Muslims and have their juice shops named Balaji Juice Corner. They have now fled. fearing verification. We can’t have Rohingya or unverified immigrants,” said Davinder Singh of the Vishav Hindu Parishad.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram Nishant Yadav, while speaking to The Tribune, said the matter had been brought to his notice.

“We have got to know about this reported exodus and are looking into it. We are even speaking to the police and will ensure peace,” he said.
