Low areas in Bhuna submerged

This has also led to waterlogging in most of these areas.
The district administration has gone into full alert mode. Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Kaur has directed all government officers and staff to stay in the field and not leave their station without permission. She has also instructed departments like Public Health, Irrigation, Panchayati Raj, and Local Bodies to ensure timely drainage of rainwater and prevent further flooding.
Following these orders, District Municipal Commissioner (DMC) Sanjay Bishnoi and SDM Rajesh Kumar inspected Bhuna city. They visited affected areas like Nehru Park, Sanchla Road, Hisar Road, STP Point, Uklana Road, and the main market to assess the damage and speak to locals.
In other parts of the district, Ratia SDM Suresh Kumar and Tohana SDM Akash Sharma also inspected flooded areas in their regions and directed officials to speed up drainage and increase monitoring.
Situation under control, but vigilance continues
DC Mandeep Kaur said emergency arrangements were in place across the district due to the rain alert. She said special teams from different departments were working in their assigned areas. According to her, there is no serious problem at the moment.
Regarding the Ghaggar, she stated that it was currently flowing below its capacity, but inspections were going on at the embankments of Ghaggar, Rangoi and the Hisar-Ghaggar drain.Water had collected in some urban low-lying areas, but departments responded quickly, and the water was drained out on time.
The DC also mentioned that no leaves would be given to any official or employee during this period. She instructed SDMs and Zila Parishad CEOs to increase contact with villages and report any flooding or unusual situations immediately.
Public advisory, helpline
Mandeep Kaur advised citizens not to panic, as the situation was under control. She urged residents to report any cases of waterlogging or water leaks by calling the Control Room at 01667-230018. She also directed the District Development and Panchayat Officers to activate sarpanches and panchayat members in the villages, so they could alert the authorities quickly if any emergency arose. Additionally, the officials from the Irrigation Department were ordered to remove water hyacinth and blockages near Chandpura siphon on the Ghaggar to ensure smooth water flow.
