The Mahendragarh district, on the Haryana-Rajasthan border, sees candidates from all parties promising to bring industries to woo voters in the upcoming assembly election.

BJP candidate Dr Abhay Singh Yadav, a two-time MLA from Nangal Choudhary, vowed to develop the constituency as an industrial area. “Any industrial unit requires road and rail connectivity. With extensive work done in these areas over the past decade, it’s time to bring industries here, generating employment opportunities and eliminating unemployment.”

Local resident Rajesh noted that Mahendragarh’s assembly constituencies lack major industries, forcing locals to seek employment elsewhere. Previous efforts to establish an Industrial Modern Township (IMT) in the Khudana village were unsuccessful.

Besides Yadav, Congress candidate from Mahendragarh and former chief parliamentary secretary Rao Dan Singh is also highlighting the issue of unemployment in his poll meetings. He emphasises that setting up industries is necessary to create local employment opportunities. “Our government had initiated an ambitious project to establish an IMT in the Khudana village, but the BJP government failed to execute it despite ruling the state for 10 years. I will implement the project without delay when I come to power, providing employment to locals,” Rao said.

Similarly, BSP candidate from Ateli, Thakur Attar Lal, seeks votes from electors, promising to leave no stone unturned in developing an IMT in his assembly constituency if elected.
