In a significant move to curb criminal activities along the Haryana-Rajasthan border, police officials from Mahendragarh and neighbouring Rajasthan districts convened a coordination meeting to enhance joint efforts in tackling cross-border crime.
The meeting, held at the Ateli police station, was attended by senior officers from both states, including Station House Officers (SHOs) and Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs). The primary agenda was to strengthen inter-state collaboration to apprehend wanted criminals and prevent illegal activities in the border areas.
The officials agreed upon conducting coordinated operations targeting cross-border criminals and criminal networks operating in the region. They also shared intelligence inputs regarding criminal activities and suspects besides planning to set up joint checkpoints at strategic locations along the border to monitor and control movement, thereby deterring criminal activities, said the district police spokesman. “Officials also exchanged lists of active and absconding criminals between the two states to ensure swift action and apprehension. They also stressed on joint efforts to identify and target individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, with coordinated raids and surveillance operations,” he added.
The spokesman emphasised the importance of sustained cooperation between Haryana and Rajasthan police forces to effectively combat cross-border crime. He highlighted that regular coordination meetings would be held to ensure continuous monitoring.
