Mahendragarh Deputy Commissioner Capt Manoj Kumar on Friday said sustained efforts were being made to place the district on the world tourism map. He was interacting with mediapersons here.

“Several historical sites in the district have been renovated and renovation of the remaining ones will also be carried out soon,” he said. The Deputy Commissioner pointed out that an attractive tourist circuit could be created by connecting the historical sites of Haryana with those located in the neighbouring state of Rajasthan.

He asserted that conservation and renovation of all historical sites in the district would be undertaken under the Central Government’s One State, One Global Tourist Hub scheme.

“As per the government’s instructions, the district administration will provide the benefits of welfare schemes and services to residents at their doorstep during a special drive from December 19 to 25,” said Capt Manoj Kumar. He added that a workshop would also be organised on December 23 as part of the week-long campaign, with the primary objective of ensuring speedy delivery of public services.

The DC held a meeting with officials of all departments to finalise the outline of the campaign and clearly informed them that the Prime Minister’s Office was monitoring the drive. He directed all departments to prepare a detailed roadmap by December 18.

Special camps will be organised during the campaign at the district, sub-divisional, block, tehsil and municipal levels. SDM Mahendragarh Kanika Goyal, SDM Kanina Dr Jitender Singh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Ranveer Singh and City Magistrate Dr Mangal Sen were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Kumar also heard public grievances on Friday at the local mini-secretariat. During meetings with district officials, he noticed a growing number of residents waiting to air their grievances. Instead of calling them into his office, Capt Manoj Kumar came out into the veranda and sat among the people, instantly striking a chord with them. He also summoned the officials concerned there and directed them to ensure early redressal of the grievances.
