The local police today arrested the main accused, Rajkaran of Paitawas, in the murder case of Jagdeep, a physiotherapist at Baba Mastnath University, Rohtak. Two other accused, Hardeep and Dharmpal, have already been arrested in the case. Rajkaran will be produced in the court tomorrow to get his police remand.

The physiotherapist’s body was recovered from a seven-foot-deep pit at Paitawas village of Charkhi Dadri district some days ago. He had gone missing under mysterious circumstances in December last year.

After recovering the body, Rohtak ASP YVR Shashi Shekhar had disclosed that Jagdeep had been living at Kamala’s house in Janta Colony in Rohtak for about three years. Kamala’s daughter was married to Rajkaran, who grew suspicious of his wife’s friendship with Jagdeep.

“Rajkaran, along with Dharampal and Pradeep, allegedly kidnapped Jagdeep from Rohtak on December 24. They took Jagdeep hostage in their vehicle, beat him, and drove him to Paitawas village, where a pit had already been dug. Jagdeep was then thrown alive into the pit and buried,” he had added.
